CONVECTION

*Convection is the transfer of heat within a fluid by mixing of one portion of the fluid with another.

           1)Free (or) Natural Convection

           2)Forced Convection

NEWTON'S LAW OF COOLING

Newton's Law of Cooling states that the rate of change of the temperature of an object is proportional to the difference between its own temperature and the ambient temperature (i.e. the temperature of its surroundings).

THERMAL BOUNDARY LAYER

The flow velocity will then increase rapidly within the boundary layer, governed by the boundary layer equations, below. The thermal boundary layer thickness is similarly the distance from the body at which the temperature is 99% of the temperature found from an inviscid solution.
