TURBO CHARGERS
*An engine may not produce the same power output when it is operated at different location and altitudes. This is due to variations ambient conditions. Super Chargers and Turbo Charger are used to overcome this problem.
*Supercharging is the process of supplying to the engine the air fuel mixture above the atmosphere pressure. It is pressue Boosting Device which Supplies air in Diesel Engine (or) air-fuel mixture in a petrol engine at a higher pressure.
*Some Super Charger are driven by a gas turbine which derives its from the engine exhaust gases. This type of supercharger is called TurboCharger.
Purpose of Turbocharger
1. Space occupied by the engine as required to marine engines.
2. To have better Turbulence and greater power and low specific fuel consumption.
3. To improve Volumetric Efficiency of the engine.
4. To maintain the power of a reciprocating I.C. Engines.
